GE Aviation has contracted with Cincinnati State Technical & Community College Workforce Development Center (WDC) to establish a Machining Lab and a 40-hour "Machining for Engineers" course. This training program is designed to give engineers, who are new to GE, an appreciation for the machining involved in the manufacture of JET Engine parts These engineers will experience, first hand, the issues of producing parts to typical GE specifications and will help them consider the difficulty of manufacturing in new designs and improvemnts on their projects. GE is expected to initially send 130 engineers this year and approximately 240 new engineers per year over the term of this agreement.
